Aurora, CO — Arapahoe County Commissioner Bill Holen, who represents the 5th district of Arapahoe County, is officially launching his re-election campaign for a second term on the Commission.
Bill Holen, along with his wife and former Aurora City Councilwoman Debi Hunter Holen, is hosting a formal announcement kickoff party this Saturday, January 16th at their home at 573 Quentin St in Aurora from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
As Commissioner, Holen has overseen the Community Resources & Public Works and Development departments, served as Finance Officer during 2013, and as Chair Pro-Tem in 2014. He has also headed the Human Resources and Performance Management departments of the County Commission during his tenure. Bill also serves on the E470 Board and the National Association of County Officers (NACO) and is Vice-Chair of Transportation SubCommittee on Airports, and Veterans and Military sub committee for NACO.
In his second term as Commissioner, Bill will continue his commitment to the citizens of District 5 by expanding further the Open Space program, and by improving the County Works program to ensure the development of better job skills in Arapahoe County and improve the County’s infrastructure.
Bill also represents Arapahoe County’s interests on a variety of boards and committees, including the Arapahoe County Housing Authority; the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority; the Colorado Counties Inc. Transportation and Telecommunication, Public Lands, and Land Use and Natural Resources steering committees; and the National Association of County Veterans.
He also serves on the boards of the Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health Network, Developmental Pathways, Denver Regional Council of Governments, and Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners.
A Vietnam Army veteran and former member of the Colorado Air National Guard, Bill Holen is committed to Arapahoe County’s soldiers and veterans, and has made veteran healthcare and mental care a top priority for his second term.
